UN commemorates World Braille Day

On December 4, the United Nations commemorated the World Braille Day. The United Nations, highlighted the use and importance of the universal tactile communication system for the full realization of human rights for blind and partially sighted people. The UN also said that these challenges needed to be fulfilled in the present conditions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Celebrated since 2019, the World Braille day is observed to raise awareness of the “importance of Braille as a means of communication in the full realization of the human rights for blind and partially sighted people.”
