UK government ready to restart negotiations on post-Brexit trade agreement

On October 21, the UK government said that it is ready for the negotiations on a post-Brexit trade agreement with the European Union (EU) and the talks on the same would restart on October 22.

The move comes days after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson threatened to walk away from the talks unless he got clarity that the two sides could reach an agreement.

“We are ready to welcome the EU team to London to resume negotiations later this week. It is clear that significant gaps remain between our positions in the most difficult areas, but we are ready, with the EU, to see if it is possible to bridge them in intensive talks,” read a statement from the Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s office.
