Thousands of indigenous people in Columbia, who are demanding to meet with President Iván Duque are marching in the capital, Bogotá.

These people have been joined by social activists and Afro-Colombians. There are about 7,500 protestors in the capital city. Mayor Claudia López has organised for the city’s main sports centre which will be used as an overnight base.

The indigenous groups are demanding the government to do more for protecting their lands, protecting indigenous leaders and initiating and implementing a peace agreement.
