The First BforPlanet Event Features Leading International Organizations on Sustainability and Development

The first BforPlanet, an event aimed at promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the commercial sector, will bring together some of the world’s leading sustainability and development organizations. 

The United Nations, through the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme), the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development), the World Bank, and the WWF are among the participants in the event, which will take place on July 7 and 8 at Fira de Barcelona’s Montjuic venue (World Wide Fund for Nature). 

BforPlanet’s programme, organized by Fira de Barcelona with funding from the Barcelona City Council, will be divided into five themes: partnerships, sustainable growth, climate action, innovation, and social inclusion. 

Independent experts, senior representatives from international institutions and organizations, and private sector executives will present various strategies in the fields of sustainability and the implementation of the SDGs in business activity, with the goal of generating new business opportunities, expanding markets, and creating jobs. 

Amazon, Coca-Cola, Aigües de Barcelona, Danone, Unilever, Renfe, and BBVA are just a handful of the corporations highlighted. As a result, specific examples and solutions for the transformation of business models in areas like the blue economy, pollution prevention, the circular economy, energy efficiency, gender equality, public-private partnerships, and the provision of safe drinking water and food will be showcased around the world.
