The COVID-19 outbreak has affected the powerful and the poor alike, as several of high-profile names add to the list of the victims of the virus.
Of the latest, ten of South Sudan’s Cabinet Ministers have been tested positive for the coronavirus. The news has been confirmed by the Minister of Information Michael Makuei, who himself has been tested positive of the COVID-19.
The South Sudan’s Cabinet Ministers had come into contact with a former member of the high-level task force on coronavirus. The task force was made by the South Sudanese government as a measure to fight the pandemic. Of the task force, the Minister of Health has not been tested positive of the COVID-19.
The government of South Sudan has confirmed that all the Ministers are in good health and have placed themselves under self-quarantine.
Minister of Information Michael Makuei denied reports of President Salva Kiir being tested positive of the COVID-19.
