Sierra Leonean President tests negative of COVID-19, to resume office

The Presidency of the Sierra Leone, a West African nation, has confirmed the negative test result for COVID-19 of its President, Julius Maada Bio.

Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio and his family were on self-isolation for a period of fifteen days after one of the Presidential guards was tested positive for the COVID-19 in April.

Sierra Leonean President Julius Maada Bio took to his official Twitter account to confirm about the same and wrote, “After my fifteen-day self-isolation period, all tests for coronavirus are negative. I am very healthy and determined as ever to fight this Corona pandemic in Sierra Leone.”

President Julius Maada Bio is expected to resume his office from May 6.

According to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, the West African country has registered 178 infections and nine deaths.
