In a move to hold talks with Suh Hoon, the top ROK national security adviser, senior Chinese diplomat Yang Jiechi has arrived in Busan, a southern port city in the Republic of Korea (ROK).
On August 22, Yang who is Yang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee was seen walking into the venue. He is the first high-ranking Chinese official to visit the ROK since the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The visit to ROK comes after he had met Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on August 19 and 20.
Both the sides are likely to take up the issue pertaining to COVID-19 cooperation, Chinese president’s proposed visit to the ROK and inter-Korean relations.
