During a telephonic conversation held between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, the two leaders discussed the situation in Lebanon, Ukraine and Belarus.
In a statement, the Kremlin said, “Putin and Macron discussed in detail the situation in the Republic of Lebanon, focusing on the steps taken by Russia and France to provide humanitarian assistance to the people in Lebanon after the explosion in the port of Beirut on August 4.”
Mr. Macron shared some impressions of his recent visit to the country in Middle East. During their conversation, the Russian leader reaffirmed its commitment to support the republic’s national unity and sovereignty, the statement said, adding the two leaders also highlighted the need of constructive dialogue and without external interference to resolve any controversy.
Apart from Lebanon, the two Presidents also took up the situations in Ukraine and Belarus.
