President of South Sudan gets COVID-19 vaccine

South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir was vaccinated against Covid-19. On Twitter, the South Sudan Government informed that President Salva Kiir has received his first dose of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine as protection against the COVID-19 virus. President Kiir was vaccinated at his official residence in the presence of the VP – Services Delivery Cluster Hussein Abdelbagi, Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Tut Gatluak, number of national ministers and senior officials in the Office of the President. 

Addressing media shortly after the vaccination, Minister of Presidential Affairs Dr. Barnaba Marial Benjamin said, Covid-19 is dangerous & applauded President Kiir for joining to lead the campaign for the ongoing nationwide vaccination exercise in the fight against Covid-19.
