Police fire rubber bullets at protestors demanding restoration of democracy in Myanmar

Since the Myanmar military has seized power in Myanmar by overthrowing the democratically elected government in a coup, protests have intensified in  the country leading to repressive action by the state security forces. On February 9, security forces fired rubber bullets at the protestors in Naypyidaw.

In Mandalay, the country’s second-biggest city, police fired tear gas to disperse protesters.

Protestors carried placards reading “We want our leader” and “no dictatorship”.
