PM Modi visits Ayodhya after 29 years, first Prime Minister to visit Ram Janmabhoomi

India on August 5, 2020, began writing a new chapter in the country’s remarkable history. On the Bhoomi pujan ceremony of the grand Ram Temple, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi returned to Ayodhya after 29 years. PM Mr. Modi, in 1992, had vowed to return to the holy city only when the Ram Temple is built.

The last time he visited Ayodhya was when he was the convenor of the Tiranga Yatra, campaign led by Murli Manohar Joshi to revoke Article 370 that granted special status to erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Today also marks the first anniversary of the PM Modi led government’s move of Abrogating Article 370 and converting Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories.

Mr. Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister to visit Ram Janmabhoomi, says the Uttar Pradesh government.
