Planning to return to the country on Jan 17, says Putin’s critic Alexei Navalny

Despite facing a threat of jail, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny who currently is in Germany where he was recovering from a poisoning attack, on January 13, said that he planned to return to the country on January 17.

Taking it to the social media, the 44-year-old Kremlin critic wrote on Instagram, “There was never any question of ‘returning or not’ for me. Simply because I didn’t leave. I ended up in Germany… for one reason: they tried to kill me.”

It must be noted that Navalny who fell violently ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow, has been in Germany since August last year. He insists that the attack on him was carried out by Russia’s main security agency, the Federal Security Service (FSB), on the orders of President Vladimir Putin. However, Kremlin has denied any involvement.
