Paris Climate Accord is working, say scientists and diplomats

With numerous countries across the globe pledging to clean up their act and projected temperature rises slower than they once did, the forecast for global warming is looking a little less bleak in the long term, said scientists and diplomats.

They further said that the outlook for the mid-to-late century is not as gloomy as it was during the signing of the historic 2015 Paris climate accord.

However, they cautioned that impacts of global warming are already hitting Earth harder than that of the predictions made by the scientists. Despite cheaper renewable sources of energy, the use of coal, oil and natural gas that fuels climate change is not dropping as it needs to be.
