Over 1 million stranded Indians brought back while 130 K people flown to other nations under Vande Bharat Mission, informs Civil Aviation Minister

Under the Central Government’s Vande Bharat Mission, around 1 million stranded Indians have been brought back to India while more than 130,000 people have been sent to various nations across the world, informed Civil Aviation Minister Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri on August 10.  

Announcing the same on the micro-blogging site Twitter, Mr. Puri said, “Nearly one million stranded Indians have returned through various modes under VBM and more than 130K have flown to various countries. Driven by the aspirations of our people, the mission continues to facilitate repatriation and outbound travel of stranded and distressed citizens.” 

India commenced the Vande Bharat Mission in early May to evacuate Indians stranded abroad due to coronavirus restrictions and send back foreign nationals stranded here to various nations.
