Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou has been appointed the Prime Minister of Niger by President Mohamed Bazoum.
The country’s Minister of Communication and Government Spokesperson Chérif Mahamat Zene tweeted saying, “Our warm congratulations and best wishes to Mr. Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou, former Dircab and former Minister of the outgoing President Mahamadou Issoufou for his appointment as Prime Minister of Niger by the new President Mohamed Bazoum.”
Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou is a member of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism (PNDS-Tarayya).
He served in the government of Niger as Minister of Mines, Energy, and Industry from 1991 to 1993 and as Minister of Finance from April 2011 to April 2012. He has been Director of the Cabinet of the President since 2015.
