Four bilateral agreements were signed between Nepal and Bangladesh in the presence of Nepal President Bidhya Devi Bhandari and her Bangladeshi counterpart Md Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban, Dhaka.
The four agreements are Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation, MoU on sanitary and phytosanitary cooperation, cultural exchange programme, and Letter of Exchange to designate Rohanpur-Singabad railway route as an additional transit route.
The President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari paid a two-day official visit to Bangladesh. A VVIP aircraft of Nepal Airlines (A320), carrying the Nepalese President along with her entourage members, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal (R) International Airport (HISA).
The Nepalese President was given an honour guard with 21-gun salute by a contingent drawn from Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force at the HISA.
The Nepal President then went to pay tributes to martyred freedom fighters at National Memorial in Savar on the outskirts of the capital
Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina paid a courtesy call on Bhandari. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest and bilateral cooperation were discussed.
