NAM buckles to support Egypt’s domestic politics

The Non-Aligned Movement is a Movement of over 120 members representing the interests and priorities of developing countries. The Movement has its origin in the Asia-Africa Conference held in Bandung, Indonesia in 1955. Since its inception the Movement therefore attempted to create an independent path in world politics that would not result in Member States becoming pawns in the struggles between the major powers. In the present day context the Movement not only remains focused on the above areas but also works towards the restructuring of the international economic order.
Understanding the failing situation in Egypt NAM maintained its agenda in prescribing the developing countries development guidance. Egypt has been undergoing political turbulence for a period of time post the governance of Mohammed Morsi, Abdelfattah Al Sisi took charge of the nation while dealing with the consequences of previous government Egypt is facing economic setback. To support Egypt, Non-Aligned Movement is positively backing up the country to bring an end to the critical economic situation. NAM is the parent-organization of various groupings of developing nations, which seek to defend their interests in the competition between rich and poor and North and South. For developing countries to cull the fruits of South-South cooperation, it is essential to promote solidarity and coordination between those groupings. Duality and conflict of role and interests should be avoided to prevent a weakened negotiating position facing advanced nations which hold control of international financial and monetary institutions.
NAM has sought for the economical, political and cultural support in order to revive the lost tradition of development in the country. The support from the member states within its circles would work towards aligning the ties with the country to upsurge the economic benefits. NAM has been seeking its member states to support the country through the vehicle of multilateralism. The multi-binding approach for economies has always been an international carrier of NAM’s principles, which have been holding various nations in a single entity. From small meeting to global summits, NAM is continuously contemplating it through consensus and every means to normalize the situation. Since it has always worked with the collaborative effort, looking into the political tensions and relation, NAM is communicating with other members for support for the economical landscape of the country.The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), an intergovernmental body for all Arab states of Persian Gulf has been backing up the country in attaining financial stability, education facilities, goods shipments, food facilities and other economic needs. Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and United Arab Emirates are the active members of the organization, which have also been serving as one of the major contributors in spreading the peaceful agreement between nations. Following the rules of NAM, in its foreign policies Egypt has also been seeking some developed nations to politically counterbalance the relations and rather to seek peaceful agreements. Understanding the economic and political needs of Egypt, NAM held meetings with the representatives of the country to get an overview of the crisis and suggested policies as remedies. NAM has suggested some economic, political and cultural policies to promote the development in all the sections of the nation. Moreover, to increase the overseas business, it is encouraging its member states to get associated with the international business firms to open new ventures in the country for the two-way development between nations. The call for sharing the economical interests is to strengthen relations between member states has been an agenda of NAM.
With the increasing foreign business and investment, employment rate is expected to rise up opening the doors of various opportunities in the different sectors. To set out a firm constitution, NAM has emphasized to amend strict laws for fair elections and other electoral procedures, to make sure hustle free elections take place.As per NAM’s understanding certain changes in Egytian policies could restore the stability of the nation. Egypt has faced economic problems due to the absence of parliament earlier, which has lagged the country to attain the development standards. To avoid such hindrance in future NAM articulated a strict prohibition of Islamist ideologies which have caused much chaos in the past and to presently prevent the country from falling prey to such situation yet again ensuring the stability and security of the people. Prudent use of resources in the nation would bring the economical stability and would graph up the per capita income of the country.
