Nagorno-Karabakh’s largest city comes under heavy shelling

On November 5, Nagorno-Karabakh’s largest city came under heavy shelling, with the non-profit organization Reporters Without Borders, also known as Reporters sans frontières (RSF) calling for the safe evacuation of the civilians trapped in Stepanakert.

Taking it to the micro-blogging site Twitter, Reporters Without Borders, a non-profit group, called on the United Nations, the Council of Europe and Azerbaijan “to do everything possible” to help evacuate the civilians, including 80 local and foreign journalists.

At least 1,000 people and possibly many more have been killed since the clashes broke out in the region on September 27.

However, Azerbaijan’s defence ministry has denied the accusations.
