Malaysia to begin COVID-19 vaccine roll out from February 26

Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin announced that the COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country will start from February 26, 2021. The health workers will be the first to be vaccinated.

The country will receive the first batch of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine on February21, he said at the launch of the national Covid-19 immunisation programme.

He also announced that the handbook, which gives further details on the country’s largest vaccination programme, can be downloaded at www.vaksincovid.gov.my.

It contains information on the government’s portfolio of Covid-19 vaccines, the facilities provided to store them and the vaccination process, among others.

“Let us not take this issue lightly. When the time comes, do not hesitate to register to receive the vaccine. I urge everyone to participate,” the PM said.
