Lesotho Prime Minister Thomas Thabane rejects the proposal of an immediate and dignified retirement.
Prime Minister Thomas Thabane, 80, and his current wife, Maesaiah Thabane, has been suspected of killing his ex-wife, 58-year-old Lipolelo Thabane and has been under pressure to resign over increasing criticism.
Lipolelo Thabane was shot dead just two days before the 2017 inauguration of Maesaiah Thabane.
After the proposal an immediate and dignified retirement made by law makers in the landlocked nation of Lesotho and South African mediator, it is yet dicey that weather Thabane would face legal consequences for his alleged ties to his estranged wife’s murder or not.
So as to remain in power, Prime Minister Thomas Thabane suspended the Parliament that has been overruled by the Constitutional Court and he also deployed troops to the capital, Maserua, last weekend.
PM Thomas Thabane was criticised over the move. Thabane has promised to accept the retirement offer until July.
