Kuwait allows business and banks to restart activities as part of reopening measures

Countries worldwide are easing lockdown measures and moving towards phased reopening of the economy to save it from the adverse effects of the Coronavirus lockdown.

On May 31, Kuwait ended the full curfew and imposed a three-week partial curfew for a gradual return to normal.

As a part of the phased reopening plan of the economy, the Kuwaiti government has announced that businesses, including banks, can start their activities.

Tareq Al-Mezrem, the Government Spokesman said that the government has assigned the Central Agency for Information Technology to establish a platform where citizens and residents can make appointment, before going to any government institutions, in order to facilitate social distancing and curb the spread of the virus.

Tareq Al-Mezrem added that the government is monitoring results in European countries and the world, in order to gradually reopen the air travel.
