Junta says it plans to release 23000 prisoners in Myanmar

The Myanmar Junta has said that it planning to release more than 23,000 prisoners nationwide on the occasion of Buddhist new year.

However, it remains unclear whether anti-junta protesters or journalists jailed covering the coup will be among those freed.

In February too, the junta released a similar number of prisoners.
