Italy to become first EU nation where Russian Sputnik V vaccine will be made

The Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce announced that Russia has signed a deal to produce its Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in Italy, the first contract in the European Union.

“The innovative production process will help create new jobs and allow Italy to control the entire production of the compound,” the chamber said in a statement.

“The vaccine will be produced from July 2021 at the factories of the Italian-Swiss pharmaceutical company Adienne in Lombardy in Caponago near Monza,” Stefano Maggi, a press advisor at the Chamber was quoted by the AFP.
