Israel test fires new ballistic strike missile system

The Israel Aerospace Industries has confirmed on June 2 that Israel has tested a new precise ballistic strike missile, capable of hitting targets in the range of 400 km.

In an official statement, the Israel Aerospace Industries said that two firing trials were carried out in the open sea.

The Israel Aerospace Industries is a state-owned weapons and defence company and the launched missile is a part of a weapon system named LORA (Long-Range Artillery Weapon System) that has been developed it.

Per the information provided by the Israel Aerospace Industries, LORA is a sea-to-ground and ground-to-ground system that can hit a target with a precision level of 10 metres radius.

Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, welcomed and appreciated the missile tests. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wrote on his Facebook page, “parallel with our war on coronavirus, we are continuing to safeguard Israel’s security-on defence and offence”.
