Islamic State claims responsibility of Kabul University attack

The responsibility of the deadly Kabul University attack that has killed at least 22 students and has injured several others, has been claimed by the Islamic State.

After detonating an explosive device at the eastern gate of the university, when the attack began at around 11:10 a.m. local time on November 2, the IS militants entered the compound and started firing while the second blast rocked the university’s northern gate at around 3:20 p.m. local time when the gunshots and rescue operations to take out all those trapped in the crossfire was underway. Vowing to take the revenge of the deadly attack, country’s President Ashraf Ghani said, “We will take revenge for this senseless attack and for any drop of innocent students’ blood spilled today. This attack will not remain without response, we will retaliate.”
