Iranian President praises the Armed forces on the occasion of Army Day

Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani on the occasion of the National Army Day on April 18, highlighted the contribution of the nation’s armed forces and praised them for their efforts in fighting the COVID-19 outbreak in Iran. He expressed his gratitude towards the armed forces.

To mark the celebration of the Army Day, the country’s army held a parade that was itself unique and highlighted the determination of the army in fighting the COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The Iranian Army instead of military hardware paraded with the disinfection vehicles, mobile hospitals and medical equipment.

The Army Day parade was code-named “Guardians of Homeland, Health Assistants” and was held at a small scale witnessing the participation of top military officials observing social distancing rules.

Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Hossein Baqeri, said, “I would like to thank all my dear comrades in the army, air defence, ground force, air and naval forces … and especially those on the front-lines of defending health”.
