Iran cancels Nature Day celebration to avoid social gathering

The Iranian government to avoid public gathering has cancelled the celebration of Nature Day on April 1. The celebration was marked by silence with the parks and green lodges across the country remaining closed.

Iran is following social distancing since March 17 and will continue till April 8 and all schools, universities, shopping malls, parks, sports complexes, swimming pools and entertainment facilities are closed.

Nature Day is the 13th day of the Iranian New Year that is celebrated by the people of Iran. It fell on April 1 this year but was cancelled because of the pandemic COVID-19 that has killed 3,036 and infected 47,593 by April 1, per the records of the Ministry of Health of Iran.
