India virtually forms a part of intra-Afghan talks ceremony in Doha

India formed a part of the intra-Afghan talks ceremony that started with the process of negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban on September 12. Apart from India there were around 30 other nations that formed a part of the ceremony in Doha.

All the countries, including Iran, Pakistan and many central Asian countries that border Afghanistan have been invited to attend the ceremony, the official negotiation for which will begin on September 14.

India’s External Affairs Minister Mr. S. Jaishankar formed a part of the event virtually while Joint Secretary, Pakistan Afghanistan and Iran (PAI) division in ministry of external affairs, JP Singh were present at the event physically.

Earlier this year, on February 29, 2020 in Doha, India was present at the signing of US-Taliban deal.
