India to come up with the world’s highest Railway Bridge by 2022

India is soon to come up with the world’s highest railway bridge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. Being built over Chenab river, the bridge will be 35 metres taller than Eiffel Tower and is likely to be completed by August 2022.

Building in such a terrain is not an easy job but the work shall be completed by 2022 deadline, said Deputy Chief Engineer RR Malik who is also the product manager.

A connecting link between Kashmir valley and Katra in Jammu and the rest of the country, the bridge will cut down the travel time by 5-6 hours from Katra to Srinagar. To be one of its kind, the bridge will get major uptick for Jammu and Kashmir in tourism. The 1.3 km long bridge will generate local employment. Hectic activity will happen while also boosting the local economy, said Indu Kanwal Chib (KAS), Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, adding it also has a helipad, so the people from Delhi can come via chopper.
