Amidst the coronavirus lockdown, those put in charge of maintaining the law and order has been the one breaking it in Mozambique.
In a recent event a man was beaten to death by two police officers when he threatened to film them playing football in contravention of coronavirus restrictions in Mozambique.
The two police officers are to be charged for the attack on Abdul Razak, 44 on April 19 in the Munhava area of Beira city.
Orlando Mudumane, Police Chief’s Spokesman, said “Criminal and disciplinary processes are under way.” He added that the officers are in detention and would be held accountable for their actions.
Orlando Mudumane added, “The police will provide the bereaved family with the necessary support, according to the law.”
