In a first, Israeli delegates to fly to Abu Dhabi to hold cooperative talks

On August 30, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel has held secret talks with several Arab countries to normalize their relations.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed, “There are many more unpublicized meetings with Arab and Muslim leaders”. Netanyahu passed the statement during joint remarks in Jerusalem alongside U.S. President Donald Trump’s senior advisor Jared Kushner and National Security Advisor Robert O’Brien.

He added that these Arab leaders “recognize that their true interests are to normalize relations with Israel.” Netanyahu further stated, “Today’s breakthrough will become tomorrow’s norms.” “It will pave the way for other countries to normalize their ties with Israel.”

The Israeli delegation, which will also include Kushner and O’Brien will be headed by the chief of the National Security Council Meir Ben Shabbat, and will fly to UAE’s capital Abu Dhabi on August 31 by Israel’s national airliner El Al, in the wake of the peace agreement signed between Israel and UAE to normalize diplomatic ties.

It will be the first commercial flight to UAE from Israel.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister’s office, the talks will focus on “ways to promote cooperation in a variety of fields such as aviation and tourism, trade, economy and finance, health, energy, security and more.”
