Gunfire erupts in Somalia between loyalists and opponents of the government

On Sunday a gunfire erupted in Somalian Capital Mogadishu between soldiers loyal to the government and those opposed to President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed’s extended stay in power.

Earlier on Sunday, hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Mogadishu, chanting “we don’t want a dictatorship.” They also stamped on and set fire to images of President Mohamed.

No casualties were reported but the fact that Somalia stands on the brink of civil war can not be denied.
