Global Goals Week is held at Expo 2020 Dubai to promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

Expo 2020 Dubai will bring the world together to accelerate progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030, ensuring a brighter and more fair future for all. The Global Goals Week at Expo 2020 Dubai is centered on this topic. 

Expo 2020 Dubai is giving single-day access tickets for Dh10 just to commemorate the new approaching milestone of ten million in-person visits. 

Global Goals Week, which runs from January 15 to 22, is a venue for different participants, from world leaders and policymakers to corporate leaders and individuals to interact and work toward attaining the SDGs during a critical time of uncertainty, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues. 

The opening speech by Amina J. Mohammed and a showcasing of youth from around the world sharing their SDG commitments on the world’s largest 360-degree projection screen at Al Wasl Plaza on January 15, to Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week’s Opening Ceremony and the Zayed Sustainability Prize awards ceremony on January 17, will be among the highlights of Global Goals Week. 

Mariam Hareb Almheiri, UAE Minister of Climate Change and the Environment; Jayathma Wickramanayake, UN Secretary-Envoy General’s on Youth; and, virtually, Bill Gates, Co-Chair, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation will attend the ‘Global Goals for All’ main event, co-curated by Project Everyone. On January 16, the panel will discuss the facts and solutions needed to motivate action on some of the world’s most pressing issues, such as gender inequality and the climate crisis.
