Germany, the largest plastic producer in Europe has taken a major step towards cutting down its plastic use. The move comes as the country passes a ban on all plastic bags from 2022.
In an attempt to reduce plastic pollution and meet its EU goal, Germany’s move to ban all single-use plastic bag at malls, stores and supermarkets, was announced late last month by the government.
In addition to that the government has also announced a ban on ban on all plastic bags from the beginning of 2022. The move comes in line with the European Union’s goal to reduce plastic bag pollution by 80 percent by 2025. German lawmakers, late last month voted in favour of a complete ban on plastic bags.
