Syria has been targeted by Iranian-backed forces on June 28 that has claimed the lives of nine people.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the airstrikes targeted positions of Iranian-backed forces in the desert region, in the countryside of Al-Bukamal city in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour province.
The UK-based, Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the death toll could likely rise due to the number of critically wounded fighters.
The war monitor added that on June 27, similar strikes had hit the same area, adding that the Iranian-backed forces are on high alert in Deir al-Zour after Israeli warplanes struck their positions. In the June 27 attack, six fighters, including four Syrians, were killed in the Israeli strikes.
Earlier, on June 23, Israeli airstrikes targeted several pro-Iran military sites in Deir al-Zour, destroyed a military site and killed five fighters.
