Foreign Ministers renew their commitment to JCPOA, call for return of the U.S.

Issuing a ministerial statement, the participants of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), also known as the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, on December 22 at a conference hosted by the European Union and attended by foreign ministers from China, Russia, Iran, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, renewed their commitment to the accord and also called on the return of the United States to the Iran Nuclear deal.

According to the joint statement issued, the ministers “discussed that full and effective implementation of the JCPOA by all remains crucial and discussed the need to address ongoing implementation challenges, including on nuclear non-proliferation and sanctions lifting commitments.”

In the statement, the JCPOA participants emphasised their commitment to preserving the agreement and stressed to initiate their respective efforts towards the same.
