Armenia and Azerbaijan on October 20, announced that the Foreign Ministers of both the nations will be meeting separately with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo this week. The move comes as the world powers seek to put a stop on fighting over Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Even though both the nations have ruled out a possibility of a trilateral meeting, Pompeo will meet both Azerbaijan Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and Armenian counterpart, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in Washington on October 23.
It must be noted that a truce between Armenia and Azerbaijan was agreed to, this month in Moscow followed by another one this weekend. However, the world powers including Russia and the United States have expressed dismay that there has been no let-up in connection with the matter in more than three weeks of conflict.
