European Union commits to extend help to the Central African Republic

The European Union per its commitment to help the nations distressed with the COVID-19 pandemic has extended hand of support to the Central African Republic.

The Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, confirmed that the EU would soon organize, in collaboration with France, a humanitarian airlift for the transport of medical equipment necessary for the response to the pandemic.

Reiterating the commitment of President Faustin Archange Touadéra, Josep Borrell also laid attention upon the importance of fighting stigma and misinformation related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a telephone conversation with President Touadéra, Josep Borrell also echoed the need to accelerate the implementation of the Political Agreement on Peace and Reconciliation in the C.A.R. and called for the continuation of the dialogue between all the actors and the respect of the commitments made by the parties.
