EU will provide Pakistan with 250 million euros for clean energy initiative

The European Union (EU) has decided to donate 250 million euros to Pakistan to help with its clean energy transition and nature-based ecosystem solution project. This means that Pakistan would receive global funding in lieu of billions of trees planted across the country through the World Bank-assisted Green Bond.

The government intended to ensure complete transparency in the billion tree tsunami initiative, which was Prime Minister Imran Khan’s ambition. The initiative was being evaluated and monitored by external parties, including the IUCN, WWF-Pakistan, and the FAO.

All federal and Punjab government initiatives in Attock achieved significant and concrete development in a record duration of 15 months, with projects worth Rs8 billion started in the district.

The decision was made in response to an increase in pathological pollution, particularly in Hazro and some Attock neighborhoods, which had resulted in the development of cholera, hepatitis, and typhoid.

Soon, Rs10 million will be released for each union council in NA-55 Attock for various development projects and the government is committed to controlling inflation and is working to reduce it through inclusive measures.
