Egyptian and French naval forces conduct joint drills in Mediterranean Sea

The Egyptian Armed Forces, in a statement, said that the naval forces of Egypt and France, on July 25, jointly carried out maritime drills in the Mediterranean Sea.

The naval drill laid a major emphasis on methods of organising cooperation so as to implement combat missions against hostile naval formations and also engaging with surface and air targets as well.

The naval exercise aimed to strengthen the cooperation between the armed forces of the two sides to contribute to improved skills and exchanging expertise and experience and ensuring preserving security and stability in the Mediterranean region. It must be noted that Egypt regularly conducts joint military exercises with other nations to foster military collaboration and exchange military expertise.

Giving further details of the event, an Egyptian military spokesman said, two stealth frigates, one from each navy, took part in the joint naval exercise.
