Dhaka International Trade Fair postponed

The Dhaka International Trade Fair has been postponed by the government of Bangladesh due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The fair was supposed to be held in March at the newly built Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre in Purbachal. 

Commerce Secretary Dr Md Jafar Uddin said if the fair takes place visitors run the risk of getting infected by this virus. 

“Considering this, the government has taken a decision to postpone the fair,” he said. 

Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) is an international trade fair in Bangladesh. It is organized by the Export Promotion Bureau together with the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Bangladesh The Export Promotion Bureau and Commerce Ministry have been organising the month-long annual fair since 1995. 

In addition to Bangladeshi companies, many companies from around the world participate routinely every year. There are country-specific foreign sections at the fair, which has over seven hundred mini-stalls, general stalls, premium stalls, mini-pavilions and mega-pavilions. The finest local and foreign products are showcased at the fair.
