The Colonial Pipeline, the biggest fuel pipeline in the U.S which. delivers about 45% of what is consumed on the East Coast has restarted its operaton after a cyberattack.
On May 7, 2021, a cyberattack took place on the Colonial Pipeline. headquartered in the state of Georgia. Colonial pipeline had to proactively shut down its operations after ransomware hackers broke into some of its networks, according to U.S. officials.
The pipeline, operated by Georgia-based Colonial Pipeline, carries gasoline and other fuel from Texas to the Northeast.
