Chinese Premier Li Keqiang calls International Community for strengthened cooperation to fight COVID-19

Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, on Friday night, March 28, called the international community for strengthened cooperation with joint response to fight against the COVID-19 pandemic as it is spreading worldwide and has become a new global challenge.

The remarks from the Chinese Premier came during a phone conversation with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. He expressed sympathies to Croatia, the country that holds the rotating presidency of the European Union (EU) over the Coronavirus outbreak and said that China stands ready to back Croatia’s fight against the global pandemic as its capability allows. He also offered convenience to purchase medical supplies from China through commercial channels.

For his part, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic appreciated China for its hard work in combating the deadly Coronavirus or COVID-19.

Li further expressed hope that Croatia will strongly provide a guarantee for the safety and living convenience of Chinese citizens working and living in Croatia along with Chinese engineers and technicians engaged in the construction of major projects in Croatia.
