China sends medical assistance and medical experts to Zimbabwe

In lieu with its commitment of extending humanitarian assistance to nations world fight to help them fight the battle against the coronavirus pandemic, China has sent a team of 12 medical experts to Zimbabwe.

In the latest of the Chinese efforts to aid the world at large, the medical experts from various departments including infectious disease departments and the fields of intensive medicine, respiratory departments, traditional Chinese medicine, infection control, public health and nursing, having frontline experience in the prevention and control of COVID-19, arrived from Hunan Province to Zimbabwe’s capital Harare on May 11.

Along with the team, medical supplies including ventilators, nucleic acid testing kits, face masks and medical protective suits also arrived at the country’s capital.

Zhu Yimin, Deputy Director of the Provincial Health Commission said that the assistance extended to the African nations is in lieu for their support extended to China during the period when China was hit hard by COVID-19.
