China expresses grave concerns over India’s move of banning 43 more apps

Claiming risks to its national security, India, in a fresh move has imposed ban on another 43 Chinese apps, over which China has expressed grave concerns, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian at a press briefing on November 25.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, forbid access to 43 Chinese apps, including shopping website AliExpress.

The Indian government, in an official press release, said, “This action was taken based on the inputs regarding these apps for engaging in activities which are prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order.”
