Cambodia tightens COVID-19 restriction on areas near Thailand Border

After a spurt of COVID cases in Cambodia on December 20 (576, 516 out of which are migrant workers), the country has tightened the restrictions near the border with Thailand.

All citizens living along the Thai borders have been directed to take all precautionary measures to prevent getting infected; especially with people commuting between the Cambodia-Thailand border.

Prime Minister Hun Sen on his Facebook page on December 20 had called on Cambodian workers working in Thailand not to return to Cambodia, as a preventive measure, at this moment in time.

He said workers should continue working there and safeguard themselves against the Covid-19 virus by following the directives of the government and Ministry of Health.
