Boris Johnson tests positive for COVID-19, self-isolating at his residence

The Prime Minister of Britain Mr. Boris Johnson has been tested positive for the novel Coronavirus or COVID-19 but remains in charge of the United Kingdom’s response to the deadly outbreak.

The Prime Minister was tested on the advice of the Chief Medical Officer after he showed mild symptoms, said Mr. Johnson’s office. Self-isolating at his 10 Downing St. residence, the Prime Minister is continuing to lead the country’s response to the deadly Coronavirus outbreak, it said.

Mr. Johnson, in a video message, said that he had a temperature and a persistent cough, adding, “Be in no doubt that I can continue, thanks to the wizardry of modern technology, to communicate with all my top team, to lead the national fight back against Coronavirus.”

This comes after Britain’s Prince Charles, earlier this week, announced to have tested positive for the new virus.
