Despite the spike in the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe, violence has not taken a back seat in several countries. Nor with festivity of Eid being at the corner, the violence could not subside in Somalia.
On May 25, during the Eid celebrations, at least five people were killed in a blast in Somalia. The blast is reported to have taken place in Baidoa, located in the southwestern Bay region of the country.
Apart from the five people who lost their lives in the blast, dozens of people are feared to have been wounded in the attack.
The local reports quoted a police officer, Mohamed Muktar, who said, “The initial information we have received indicates the dead bodies of five people were collected from the scene of the blast and more than twenty others have been wounded.”
