Bangladesh agrees to hold COVID-19 vaccine trials with India

As per Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, who was recently on a two-day visit to Bangladesh, Dhaka will remain a priority recipient of COVID-19 vaccine developed in India.

Also, it must be noted that Bangladesh has agreed to hold trials of the COVID-19 vaccine with India. Announcing the same, Bangladesh’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement said that the country “is ready to collaborate in the development of a COVID vaccine, including its trial, and looks forward to early affordable availability of the vaccine when it is ready”.

“They (India) positively responded, saying that they are developing vaccines not only for themselves but also for others,” said Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, adding further that the country extended its assistance, especially in terms of a vaccine trial.

India currently is holding trials for three potential COVID-19 vaccines.
