At least one life was lost while several others were injured in a shooting in Church in northeastern Texas on January 3, the officials said. The shooting took place in the Starrville Methodist Church in the town of Winona.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, in a statement, confirmed that a suspect had been apprehended after the shooting incident. The state would “ensure that justice is served and that the Starrville community has the resources it needs during this time” Abbott added.
This is not the first time that Texas has seen church shootings. In the past several such incidents have taken place, including a shooting at a Baptist church in Sutherland Springs on November 5, 2017 in which 26 people were killed and 20 wounded.
